Liverpool’s Bostonian owner John Henry has revealed Liverpool’s summer
transfer plan’s, and states that the club will not be held to ransom
over possible target’s.
The club still intend to sign Aston Villa’s Stewart Downing and
Blackpool’s Charlie Adam, though the moves have stalled due to “inflated
prices”, leaving many to believe Liverpool will look abroad for players
o bolster the squad.

Henry, principal owner of the club’s American backers Fenway Sports
Group, said: ‘We are determined to build. As long as we stay within the
parameters UEFA have set under their Financial Fair Play rules, we
will have flexibility.’
Midfielder Alberto Aquilani, written off as a £17million misfit, is
ready to resume his Anfield career after being on loan at Juventus.
‘I return to Liverpool with great enthusiasm,’ Aquilani, 26, said. ‘This is not a problem.’

According to Henry, Liverpool are not in the market to solve Liverpool’s
short term problem’s, but are looking to gain an advantage for the
long-term picture.
Speculation on players shouldn’t include those of a certain age. We are
not going to be successful by merely filling short-term needs at LFC,”
Henry tweeted. We already have quite a bit of experience in the club so
it should be a good balance.”
He added: “Everything in sports is overpriced now – especially the cost of winning.”

Liverpool fan’s will have grown frustrated in the last week seeing rival’s Manchester United landing not one but two big-money signing’s; winger Ashley Young and keeper David De Gea. De Gea capped off a 50 million spending spree by Sir Alex Ferguson, with the Champion’s capturing Phil Jones in the early moments of the window. However, Henry has made an attempt to calm the hearts of the Anfield faithful, and promises that Liverpool will continue to spend this summer.
“Some things happen early and some happen late, the important thing is that things happen,” Henry said.
